Cat Eyes Tutorial

This piece was all about suggestion rather than detail. Instead of painting every strand of fur, I focused on negative painting and value shifts to let the lighter fur emerge from the darker shapes. The goal wasn’t to describe everything — it was to control edges and let the viewer’s eye complete the texture. The eyes were built slowly in layered glazes to create depth and that wet, rounded look.
